Consultancy
Our job wouldn’t be worth doing if we didn’t help you achieve your goals. Swanky mailers, column inches, smart microsites are all very well. But if they don’t achieve the desired effect, then to us they’re a waste of time.
From students to business leaders, yummy mummies to artisan fishermen - we thrive on a communications challenge.
As well as working direct with clients, we help agencies looking for specialist support.

Helping Brabantia Go Social

Learn more
To establish what was already being said online, we conducted an online audit benchmarking Brabantia against key competitors. Results were fed into an online community engagement strategy with associated KPIs.
We worked alongside LawsonClarke to present the strategy to Brabantia’s management team. Once approved, we helped develop a magazine-style blog www.brabantialife.com, Flickr, Facebook and twitter accounts.
Ongoing support includes blogger outreach, community engagement, monitoring and strategic advice.
Dealing An Ace For Drugs Project
A group of Bristol drugs and alcohol agencies needed support launching a scheme for crack dealers and users. Credible yet professional communications were needed to support outreach. So they approached us for help.
Learn more
To understand how to communicate with dealers and users, we conducted research. Findings helped us develop a project identity to translate across factsheets, presentations and website. To reach isolated users, a guerrilla sticker campaign covered all major drug ‘scoring’ districts around Bristol. This was supported by flyers and posters handed out by outreach workers and volunteers. They were also left in community centres, cafes, drug and housing services and hostels.
Finally, SWITCH was launched to the media. PR generated a front-page feature in the Guardian Society plus coverage across trades, local media and referrer bulletins. National talk shows and TV documentaries also requested comment.
The project exceeded targets, generating self-referrals from users and dealers. Project workers were also asked to report back to the trade press and national Drugs Strategy group. www.switch-changegear.org.uk
Promoting Sustainability To Commonwealth Leaders
The Commonwealth Fisheries Programme (CFP) is a consortium of organisations focused on research and promoting sustainable fisheries management to Commonwealth decision makers.
Learn more
With complex messages to convey to diverse audiences, the Commonwealth Foundation approached us to support their communication and public affairs strategy.
Working closely with the Project Board, we project-managed the programme identity and website. To aid collaboration and remote access, we created an online office or wiki. This was supported by the development of Flickr and Facebook groups and a research repository.
A programme factsheet was developed and series of e-shots issued to public affairs contacts as the programme progressed. These drove traffic to new research, events and programme findings, creating buzz in the run-up to their announcement at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
